Buying a jump starter or paying for a service, which one makes more sense?

I've been going back and forth on this for a couple of weeks now and could use some outside opinions. My battery has died twice this year and both times I got lucky because a kind stranger helped me out in the parking lot. But I don't want to keep relying on luck, you know? So I'm comparing two options and I keep changing my mind. One is buying one of those portable jump starter boxes and keeping it in my car. The other is just calling a service when it happens. I looked up car jumpstart pros online and the idea of someone coming to me sounds pretty convenient especially since I'm usually with my kids and can't exactly flag down strangers while they're in the back seat asking why we're not moving. But buying a jump starter means I'm covered forever and don't have to wait for anyone to show up. The catch is I've watched videos and those little boxes seem simple but I'm worried I'd still mess it up under pressure with people watching. Has anyone here gone one way or the other? What made you decide and do you regret it? I'm leaning toward the service just because it's less for me to think about but I'd really appreciate hearing real experiences before I spend any money. Also if you bought a jump starter which one did you get and was it actually easy to use? Thanks.
