Dodge Charger transmission shudder – who’s actually good with these in Sharjah?

Okay, I need to pick some brains here because I’m honestly at that point where I don’t trust half the workshops I drive past anymore. I’ve got a 2019 Dodge Charger R/T, the 8-speed automatic, and for the past month or so, I’ve been dealing with this really annoying shudder that happens when I’m cruising at low speeds, especially around 40 to 60 km/h. It’s not violent or anything, but it’s definitely there, almost like driving over those rough rumble strips on the side of the highway, except the road is perfectly smooth. I’ve already changed the spark plugs, did an oil change, even had the engine mounts checked because I thought maybe it was an engine issue, but everything came back fine. Now I’m pretty sure it’s transmission related, and honestly, that scares me a bit because I know these ZF 8HP units are amazing when they work, but they’re also ridiculously complex and expensive if something goes wrong. I’ve been reading up on it and apparently it could be anything from low fluid pressure to a failing torque converter, or even just a software glitch that needs a proper reset with the right diagnostic tools. The problem is, finding a garage that actually knows how to deal with these modern ZF boxes properly is like finding a needle in a haystack, especially around Sharjah where everyone claims they’re experts but half of them have never even seen the inside of one of these transmissions. I live near Al Nahda and I’ve been driving around looking for shops that specialize in American cars, but I keep getting mixed vibes, some look decent, others look like they’ll just throw parts at it and hope for the best. I really don’t want to be that guy who ends up paying for a full rebuild when all it needed was a fluid flush and a software update, but at the same time, I don’t want to ignore it and end up with a complete failure down the line. A friend of mine mentioned he found a specialist page online that covers different brands, and I came across gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/dodge which seemed to focus specifically on models like mine, but I’m always skeptical about websites, you know? Like, anyone can make a fancy site these days, but that doesn’t mean they can actually fix a temperamental ZF transmission without making things worse. So I guess what I’m really asking is, has anyone here actually taken their Dodge, especially a Charger or a Challenger, to a shop in or around Sharjah that genuinely knows these gearboxes inside out? I’m not talking about the usual "we do everything" type of garage, I mean a place that specifically deals with transmission issues and has the proper equipment to diagnose and fix these modern electronic units. I don’t mind driving a bit further if the reputation is solid, because at this point I’d rather pay a bit more for peace of mind than save a few hundred dirhams and end up with a transmission that’s worse off than before. I’ve seen a few recommendations online but they’re all over the place, some people swear by certain shops, others say they had terrible experiences, and it’s hard to tell what’s genuine and what’s just friends hyping each other up. Honestly, this shudder is starting to drive me crazy, it’s not even that the car drives badly, it’s just that nagging feeling that something isn’t right, and I know if I leave it too long it’s going to turn into a much bigger problem. I’ve even thought about taking it to the dealership, but we all know how that goes, they’ll probably quote me an arm and a leg just for a diagnostic, and I’m not sure they’re any more competent than a good independent specialist when it comes to these specific issues. So yeah, if anyone has been through this with their Dodge and found a workshop that actually solved the problem properly, please share your experience because I really need to get this sorted before it ruins my daily commute and my wallet. I’m planning to take it in somewhere next week, but I want to do my homework first and make sure I’m not walking into a nightmare situation. Appreciate any honest feedback, good or bad, because at least that gives me a clearer picture of what I’m dealing with out there.
