Finally got the Airmatic on my S Class sorted and I can't believe I waited this long

I've been driving around with a slightly saggy rear end on my 2014 S550 for probably six months now, just pretending I didn't notice it because the thought of dealing with the dealer and their quotes for new struts gave me anxiety every time I walked up to the car, but last week the compressor started sounding like a dying vacuum cleaner and I knew I couldn't ignore it anymore without risking a total system failure. A friend who runs a CLS told me about a shop over in Al Quoz that actually rebuilds the Airmatic struts instead of just replacing the whole unit, and I was skeptical at first because everyone says you have to replace them in pairs and it's going to cost a small fortune no matter what, but I figured I'd at least let them diagnose it. They put it on the lift and showed me the exact spot where the air bladder was leaking on the driver's side rear, and they rebuilt that strut with new seals and a fresh bladder, recharged the system, and even updated the software on the compressor relay, all for less than half of what the dealer quoted me for just one new strut. The ride is back to that floating cloud feeling and the compressor is silent again, and honestly I'm just relieved I didn't have to dip into savings for something that turned out to be fixable. If anyone else is nursing a tired Mercedes suspension I'd say check out royalprinceautocare.com/service/mercedes-suspension-repair because it's refreshing to find a place that actually tries to fix things instead of just swapping parts and handing you a massive bill. Now I can actually enjoy the commute on Sheikh Zayed Road again without wincing every time I hit an expansion joint.
