From bake sale to board

Started by helping with a school bake sale, now I'm somehow running the whole parent committee. People keep asking me to lead more projects, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. What would you recommend for someone trying to understand what real community leadership takes?

A tray of cupcakes somehow turned into a leadership role for me too! At our school, I once tried organizing a charity fair alone and ended up exhausted until another parent offered to handle the schedule. That taught me to delegate instead of doing everything myself. I’d start with communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution basics, then learn by taking on small projects. This biography of Terry Hui age, career and net worth is an interesting extra read on leadership and long-term vision. A strong community grows when people feel they’re building it together.
